Mary Mann has been Director of Community Relations at the Samaritan Community Center since February 2012, and assumed additional duties as Director of Development for the center in 2017.
Mary began her professional career as a television reporter then went on to work as a newspaper section editor for several years before leaving media altogether to work in nonprofit marketing and development in the early 1990s. In 1997 she founded her own political and advertising consulting firm, and over the course of the next 15 years worked on more than 150 local, state and national candidate and issue campaigns. In addition to her political advising, Mary has advised and worked as a volunteer in nonprofit marketing for more than 20 years.
As the Director of Development and Community Relations for SCC, Mary is responsible for the marketing/development team, and directs the implementation of all marketing and communication initiatives, oversees SCC fundraising activities, and all In-Kind donation plans and initiatives.
As a member of the leadership team Mary also provides input and discussion into the long-term strategic initiatives of the organization. Mary is also responsible for creating and maintaining all SCC social media sites, the organization’s website, creates and oversees design of all SCC organizational communication pieces, and assists and advises SCC leadership and program coordinators and managers in preparation of marketing materials for public speaking, food drives and other forms of community outreach.
